Quelitu is a lightweight, user-friendly, and really fast Linux operating system based on Ubuntu/Lubuntu. It is compatible with Windows file formats and can be installed alongside Windows on your computer or replace it completely. You have a choice of several interfaces, ranging from simple and easy (Lxde) to more sophisticated (Jazz/E17). It also includes one for kids with a good choice of fun and educational games, enabling you to transform for free an old PC into an entertaining or educational computer for kids. Quelitu comes with lightweight applications, but can quickly be scaled up with full suites and advanced software from the vast free Ubuntu repositories. Despite being lightweight, it has more advanced components, like Qx Hub, a quick-access feature for files, applications, and configuration settings similar to Ubuntu's dash/HUD, but simpler. Because of its low RAM usage, Quelitu can turn even an old PC into a perfectly functional computer with the latest software. As such, it is an ideal replacement for the aging Windows XP or the reputedly slow Windows Vista. Quelitu is compatible with most Windows files (.doc, .docx, .xls, .xml, .pps, .ppd, .html, .pdf, .jpg, .png, .mpg, .wmv, .avi, .rmvb, .vob, .mkv, .wma, .mp3, .mp4, .pls, .zip, .7z, .rar, .torrent). Quelitu is available as Live Hybrid ISO, meaning that it can be burnt to a CD or installed to a USB. Although it is much slower to load and use from CD/USB, this makes it possible for users to try it with installation or making any changes to a computer. Useful: The CD/USB can be used to rescue files from a broken/crashed Windows computer, depending on the problem.
