Extract Web site video files from your Web browser cache.
VideoCacheView utility can help you to extract the video file from the cache and save it on your local disk for watching it in the future. VideoCacheView doesn't require any installation process or additional DLL files. It automatically scans the entire cache of Internet Explorer and Mozilla-based Web browsers (Including Firefox) and finds all video files that are currently stored in it. It allows you to easily copy the cached video files into another folder for playing/watching them in the future. If you have a movie player that is configured to play FLV files, and it also allows you to play the video directly from your browser's cache.

"The Last Resort For Video Downloading"

ProsMost of the free video downloaders like Freemake and XVideoServiceThief succeed with about 2/3 of the streaming videos that they attempt to download. They need constant updating because Adobe keep revising the standards for the RTMP network protocol and sites like Youtube attempt to thwart downloaders by regularly making changes in their servers. When the ordinary video downloaders fail I bring in the big guns- Net Transport and get-flash-videos. Even they can fail to detect the URL of streams from a site like Bang Bros for instance. In such cases the last resort is VideoCacheView which would provide 100% success by locating browser and web caches, except that some videos are fragmented from these sources. I must say I have never had a problem saving the videos to my hard drive and I appreciate being able to preview the videos from the cache.
ConsNot infallible. Some videos are fragmented when they are cached.

ProsYou can view Cached videos ; swf and image files without downloading anything .it is very light and u can save Cached contents permanently to hardrive saves us from "downloading" the watched videosalso if you have watches only the mid 15 min portion of a 1 hr video this software lets us save that 15 min video without having to download the total 1 hr vodeo
Consnot all the watched videos are cached

ProsWorked fairly well on Windows 7 Pro 32 bit version for Firefox and Internet Explorer. Had issues with Chromium.
ConsHad several problems on my Windows 7 Pro 64 bit machine.

ConsIt could see nothing in my Firefox, Opera or Chrome caches.

Do you have your browser set to delete all cached items when you close the browser? If so, minimize the browser before running VideoCacheView. Do not close your browser until you have looked at all the videos you have watched in you current session.

ProsI've used it in both Chrome and FF but mostly Chrome
ConsMaybe not the easiest interface to use.
SummaryI was able to capture video uploads on youtube that later went temporarily private immediately after viewing. It was nice to be able to enjoy the videos again even when they were suddenly no longer available. It's really a "5" to me personally regardless of the UI.
