"It crashes a lot"

ProsIt is fast, I have to give it that
ConsIt is slow at load pages with a lot of graphics and it crashes a lot before it fully loads a web page.
SummaryMy other computer died so I dug out my old computer that was running on windows 98. I downloaded Blackhawk for the speed as soon as I get a new computer, I won't be using the Blackhawk browser.

ConsIt's just a cheap knock-off from Chrome.
SummaryA browser called "BlackHawk" and yet its logo is of a Bald Eagle? That's just plain dumb.Stick with Chrome and if you want alternative, either use Dragon or Iron. Anything else is a waste of time.

SummaryHaving tried, and gotten tired of, the big browsers I decided to test some of the more obscure ones. About 20 of them in all. SlimBrowser was promising but couldn't open gmail/ymail. It juddered and stalled a few times - enough for me to stop using it. Some browsers are worth installing just to give your friends a laugh at parties (see "Laser Web Browser").I finally got around to BlackHawk and so far it's been worth it. I haven't loaded it up with extensions or plug-ins (just adblockplus) and it hasn't crashed, frozen or displayed any bothersome idiosyncrasies. It does however launch blackhawk.exe every time you open a new tab and CPU usage tops 52% sometimes.A good test for me is to print from a web page so I printed off some boarding passes and it worked brilliantly.BlackHawk has become a very faithful and reliable friend. I use it for heavy browsing and just about everything now. For alternatives I use Homepage5, Midori and Fast Web X2 which are way lighter with reduced functionality. Midori is promising but it decides to take a holiday occasionally.

ProsIs FREEIs Fastest of the three Browsers on my computerIt is Stable, has not crashed even onceIt retains it's settings Does not appear to hog resources
Conscould use some better addons
SummaryIf there was just one or two of my favorite addons for it then BlackHawk would be my default browser over Firefox. It is faster and more stable than FireFox.And where it kinda looks like Chrome, That is as far as it goes. This is a real serious web browser, Where Chrome is a very bad joke.

ProsIf it works it has them all beat!
ConsAfter recent up date Blackhawk went where no bird should go !!! I have run this for a year and no problems. But the other day they came out with a up-date and that was that, slow loading / freezing up/ warning window "BlackHawk needs to shut down" ????
SummarySo I tried uninstalling and re-installing twice didn't help? So I removed it and put on WRWares Iron browser also a chrome based browser and it works like a champ? I will keep trying BlackHawk it is or was my favorite!

ProsFast and stable. Handles most Chrome extensions well, at least the ones I use. Nice clean GUI. With LastPass, a very secure browser.

ProsVery fast install.
ConsWay too many!
SummaryEasy to download and install. After that it all goes downhill. When I went to import settings from Firefox the only option was IE, Firefox was not an option. Help section was no help. Add-ons were few. Not sure if this is a "release candidate" or still in beta. Until NetGate improves Blackhawk (maybe by version 5.0) I'll stick with Firefox. Looks like a cross between Chrome and Firefox but caters to MicroSoft. Firefox here I come!
