Drug Data provides information from the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) on prescription and over-the-counter drugs for human consumption in the United States. The data provided is intended as an information source only. Consult a physician or pharmacist before the purchase or use of any drugs listed in the data. Once the app starts, to access data for prescription drugs, tap the Prescription box, for over-the-counter drugs, tap the Over The Counter box. There is a little over five times as many over-the-counter drugs in the data as prescription ones, so it will take longer for that data to load. And, of course, the speed of data loading will depend on the speed of your device's processor. Once you see the grid with the drug data, you may filter the information by the drug name, Generic name, or Parma Class for the Prescription drugs. For the OTC drugs, you may filter by similar items. A tap on a grid column header will order the data by that column. On either data grid, a tap on a row will produce a popup with information about the drug. And for prescription drugs, the popup will additionally have a button that when tapped will produce a pdf document with detailed information. The document may be searched for any text, and common search text such as "Indications and Usage, " "Dosage and Administration, " etc.are provided. Back at the grid, after closing the popup, you may share via email the selected drug by invoking the Share charm. Comments and queries may be sent to info@lamartinsoftware.com.
