Octopus USB Controller (OCU) allows programming of buttons, keys and levers to USB human interface devices (HID) to affect a variety of functions, including: • Insertion of boilerplate text
• Emulating any key or key combination
• Opening any application, document, folder or web page
• Initiating a series of windows functions, such as moving forward and backward through active windows, opening control panel, opening devices and printers, etc.
• Emulating any Dragon NaturallySpeaking "hotkey" function
• Initiating any Dragon NaturallySpeaking command, including user-created commands
• Creating custom scripts in which any number of the above functions are combined into sequential, multi-step scripts and initiated with a single button push.
Unique to Octopus USB Controller is the ability to work with almost any commercially available USB human interface device, including hand-held microphones with programmable buttons, external keypads, and USB foot pedals. OUC substitutes for the manufacturer's programing software and does so with a simple user interface and, generally, far greater flexibility and programming options. Although it has several functions which are particularly useful to users of speech recognition software (Dragon NaturallySpeaking), it is potentially useful to any Windows user desiring to initiate actions with the push of a button. OUC can control multiple devices simultaneously and is limited only by the number of USB ports and HID devices you have available.
