Of course they're going to hand over your information for downloading copyrighted material; they're a US-based company. By law, they HAVE to. You and your friend are idiots if you thought a US-based VPN was going to protect you from copyright infringements.

Don't rate the application one star just because you're too stupid to understand international copyright laws. The program and company are amazing and do exactly what they promise to. Just because you're too stupid to spend more than five minutes researching better alternatives doesn't mean they're in the wrong.

Version: ProXPN 2.5.2

ProsPaid version creates a VPN and allows me to surf any site. I've not found any that wouldn't connect as a result of this software.
ConsInconsistently launches with Windows and needs to be loaded manually.

"WORST vpn service EVER!!"

October 14, 2013
 |
By HAWKSWATCH

 |
Version: ProXPN 2.5.2

ProsNada/zero/zilch
ConsUnfortunately, that's all there is.
SummaryWhere to begin? First, don't believe the positive ratings. They could only be from their staff. Soon after subscribing, we witnessed major connectivity issues every single time without exception. We could not have this vpn connected without losing our internet connection. It was unreal. The only solution was to disconnect, so how is that supposed to help us?? Next, it was the most expense yet the worst VPN we've ever had. Their customer service is pathetic. We would email them for help and the issues were never resolved, just useless standard company script. When the latest version was released, that too was an utter failure - it wouldn't install. All we got was an error msg. Finally we had no choice but to removed it from our computer. A complete waste of money. THEN the ultimate. After our 1 yr subscription, we received a surprising email from paypal "Subscription Payment Failed"... "The payment for your subscription to 7-day RISK-FREE trial @ $74.95 for one year ($6.25/mo.) ( BEST VALUE )"... We signed up for one year!?! Are you kidding us?? We contacted them immediately reminding them we'd only signed up for one year and to stop trying to extract additional monies from our account or we'd report them. Their reply "... when you signed up using your PayPal account, you did agree to recurring billing." Utterly despicable. The did the old bait n switch. They really are the worst!

"Worst customer service"

May 30, 2013
 |
By shigekio

 |
Version: ProXPN 2.5.2

ProsNone whatsoever
Cons-Even with paid subscription, the connection speed is dismal. -Once you try to cancel the subscription, the customer service is nightmare. Response is very slow if any.
Summary-Stay away from this service. There are far better choices out there.

"Worst free VPN I have tried"

May 19, 2013
 |
By MRPETERPAN1

Version: ProXPN 2.5.2

ProsAll good reviews written here were (probably) done by a script writer for this company. I spent half my life in advertising, so I can smell you guys.
Cons300kbps goodluck. You must provide an email address and make an account.Hijacks your web browser and redirects to their site. Then you have to select an option to go to your home page. It will not allow you to re-establish your home page even if you type it in the address bar it immediately switches back to their home page. Also every single link you click on redirects to their page first, then you have to select the page and allow it through. You guys are much worse than Hotspot Shield for advertising. They completely hold you for ransom for every single web page surfed.I uninstalled it within ten minutes.
SummaryTerrible free version.Like I said all the good reviews written here are (probably) done by pro ad writers. Just look at each good review and you will see the similarities. Always 5 stars, capital letters and proper punctuation. If a company has to pat it's own back, nuff said

"Nag, nag, nag!"

December 01, 2012

By Trigger Seven

 |
Version: ProXPN 2.5.0

ProsEasy to install.
ConsNagwear from the first second, second second, third second, and so on.
SummaryI downloaded the software, installed and signed up for an account. It was all perfectly easy. Along the way it asked me if I was sure I wanted a free account and offered me the chance to update a handful of times. That is to be expected with freeware. However, once it was installed and running I clicked in the first link to visit and instead of taking me to that link it took my to a ProXPN upgrade site. Do I want to upgrade? Uh no, I've already been asked and answered that question about 5 times in the past 5 minutes. If you want to proceed to the site you're actually trying to get to you have to click another link. I clicked the link but, get this, EVEN THEN it made me wait while it tried to sell me the paid version of the software AGAIN. I never actually made it to the site I was trying to get to because I immediately stopped the service and uninstalled the software.Note to software developers, if you want me to buy the paid version, make the free version something I'd actually want.

"proXPN is excellent!"

September 28, 2012

Version: ProXPN 2.5.0

ProsFree version available. Free let's me surf, check e-mail, works good at the coffee shop. Changes my IP and during a whatismyip test I'm in another part of the USA. Support tickets were answered quickly.
ConsNone that I can think of.
SummaryThe free version's speed is limited as advertised but gets the job done for me. I think it's great that they let me sign up for free with no credit card or other info. Premium does look much better with the unlimited features and the VPN Guard would be helpful (not available in free). Knowing that a VPN encrypts my data, I wouldn't surf the Internet using public wifi without it.
