The registry is a key component of the Windows operating system, so much so that without it, Windows would not even run. When a new piece of hardware or software is installed in Windows, it stores its configuration into the registry. ProsNothing - believe the bad reviews, which are honest, not the ones telling you not to believe the bad reviews.
ConsWas looking at alternatives for a copying program. An ad popped up that seemed to say that this was the current alternative. I found out it doesn't do what it promised and was just a clever ad trying to fool people using certain programs to buy their software.

ProsIt does what reviver soft says
ConsThis program brings a lot of issues to your operating system,i've tested this 3 times program on my computer, and i always ended to format the computer due to this program, not only deletes unused registry but it does delete from your start menu important shortcuts like system restore and other stuff(on windows xp)
My opinion revelant to this program it does not pay to have on one machine because it will bring just future issues to do it.
SummaryI can't believe how this program is 1 on Top Ten Reviews, better then this program i would say PC speed maximizer or Registry booster.

Based on your feedback though, it appears that you use/test multiple registry cleaners on your computer, which is always a recipe for disaster. Multiple products cleaning and optimizing your Windows Registry is very likely going to cause problems on your PC. While some might do their job, the others might simply worsen the situation causing problems similar to the ones you've mentioned.

Summarybought the paid version. does what it says. what the heck? i used to use easy cleaner by toni arts til i switch to windows7 pc. back then i was nervous about cleaning up the list. so feel much more relaxed with registry reviver. simple for simpletons like me

ConsWould not have noticed this but there was a second icon in the quick launch area (I only have show desktop there). Did a little research and it was installed at 0624 this morning. Maybe I was sleep surfing! Web search says most likely malware:(
SummaryUnless I did this in my sleep it is definitely rogue software. The only thing that may have been running at the time was MyDefrag which I have used many times with perfect results. It will be removed and I think it may be time for a reinstall of Vista. Computer is three years old so it is time.

Consthe program shows up as a virus on AVG & windows defender, when you download it the executable file is corrupt
