Monitor the processes and network from your desktop.
System Explorer is an analyzing tool lets you see what's happening in your system, from currently active processes to installed drivers, including also network collections, startup applications and Internet Explorer add-ons, if you have any. You can end any active process or delete items from the startup menu, to name a couple of examples. System Explorer has the possibility to obtain more information about each process from Google, or check it for virus with an online anti-virus tool, from version 4.0 and up to 10.0.

Version: System Explorer 4.7.0
ProsThe only program that I could find that allows you to permanently set priority of processes in 64-bit Windows. Aside from that, this program shows you a wealth of information about various system performance characteristics and processes.
ConsThe version on this website is outdated; the most up-to-date version can be downloaded from the publisher's website.
The priority of own processes (two of them: SystemExplorer.exe and SystemExplorerService64.exe) has to be lowered to "Normal" with the option "Permanent". In my experience, higher priority of any non-Windows process can destabilize the operating system, and thus should be avoided.

"Perfect Replacement For Windows Task Manager"

ProsI had a program installed called Prio. Prio gave the windows Task Manager the ability to set process priority. System Explorer has that ability built right in so I uninstalled Prio. Saved me some disk space.
I've always used memory cleaners and optimizers. Examples are Wise Memory optimizer, Cleanmem Mini Monitor and others of it's kind. System Explorer has the ability to clean ram on a schedule. Just look under Options/Processes in the options menu. I uninstalled my other memory cleaner. Saved yet more disk space.
ConsMaybe a little difficult compared to the native Task Manager
SummaryNow my computer starts faster, has more drive space and available ram. Before using System Explorer my computer would be at about 32 percent ram use at an idle state. Now at an idle state my computer sits around 24 percent. That's a big improvement! I am really impressed with this software and recommend it to anybody looking for an excellent alternative to the Windows Task Manager. If you are like me you may find that this jewel can really improve overall system performance and make managing your system much easier than before.

ProsI was looking for a task manager which gives detailed information about my system and easy to use. And that is what System Explorer is.
ConsNone that I've found.
SummaryFor new users: I'd recommend you use Ctrl+T to not show the tree view in the processes tab.

ProsThe icon-tray graph of CPU performance is invaluable to determining what's going on with those "slow-downs" we run into. Can take the place of the Task Manager. Easy to use and frequently updated. And it's free.
ConsHaven't run into any yet.

ProsCovers a lot of areas better than most utility packages' "paided upgrade" versions. And covers more.
ConsDocumentation a bit brief; interface a bit complex, but forgivable in such a robust package
SummaryHighly recommended for anyone just above novice to full blown experts. A great resource, and a nice upgrade for the built-in Task Manager program.
