"Lame Search Function"

April 16, 2015
 |
By Alltone

 |
Version: Time and Chaos 8.0.6.9

ProsUnlimited emails and folders assuming you organize your folders. Nice lite and logical interface.
ConsAs they "improved" versions the search function has gotten worse. Imagine, thousands of email is folders, and no effective way to search and open. Horrific. Additionally, the IMAP interface become less predictable in their improved version...it now works in the dimension of fuzzy logic This software has been going the wrong direction.
Summaryintellect has gone from very good -> just OK -> and I assume unusable in its next update. I think they are trying to emulate Outlook's enterprise sharing capability - big mistake. These guys don't' understand their customers needs.

"Good, but."

January 13, 2014

Version: Time and Chaos 8.0.6.5

ProsNimble, interactive between contacts/appointments/tasks. Works well with my android DejaOffice via Companionlink [once set up].
ConsVersion 8.0.5.0 allowed user to print today's and the next several days' appointments AND the task list on one page. Starting with V8058, had to choose today's appointments and the task list. If user wanted to print the next several days' appointments, had to reset the 'starting day option' to today which made the calendar shift to the new starting day [what Gregorian calendar starts with Wednesday?]. Tried to download 8050 from the T&C archives but even tech support says 'not available'.

"easy come, easy go"

Version: Time and Chaos 8.0.6.5

ProsQuick and easy, inexpensive program. Version 7 has been a terrific program. Light and quick on its feet.
ConsVersion 8 feels much more bloated, moves slow, sometimes doesn't update across the network without a manual refresh and took away many things that I come to depend on in version 7. I had to revert back to version 7 after a week. The knowledge base was unhelpful. The online support was not very satisfying.

"good, but so many bugs"

June 07, 2013
 |

 |
Version: Time and Chaos 8.0.6.4

ProsDoes things no other program does at anywhere near this price. Miles. Its fast, easy, efficient, I've used Legrand, Outlook, ACT!, none of them have the clearheaded streamlined interface this does. For small businesses, its a godsend.
ConsAnd for that I have to put up with tons of bugs that when reported they say "Oh, that, well don't do that, OK?" as if I was using the program incorrectly. Nothing like "Oh that, that's on our bug list". I am sorry Chaos but "Send Now" means "Send Now" not "You're using the program incorrectly".
SummaryInfuriating program. They have great person-to-person tech support, but the guy kinda always ends up saying the user did something wrong or used the program incorrectly. They closed down the users forum a while ago, it needs another one. I learned a lot from the first one and didn't have to rely on tech support so much. They did a major rewrite not too long ago but as far as I can see, just exchanged one set of good features for another equally good set of features. I don't normally write software reviews, but I use this program 24/7 and have touted it in the past. Not so much any more.

"Excellent Product"

Version: Time and Chaos 8.0.5.6

ProsI have been using this software since it first released (early 90's?) and I can't imagine using any other. I have tried other PIM's but this one tops them all. I keep everything synch'd up on my Android phone.Their tech support has been extremely responsive to help with problems either by phone or email.
ConsWhile this is incredible, there are some things I do NOT like:1) I had to purchase a 3rd party software CompanionLink in order to synchronize T&C to the phone...that was an additional $50.2) The Android (or iPhone) needs a 3rd party software called Deja Office which holds the T&C info. It's free, but I have yet to figure out HOW to get Deja Office to be the primary contact list on my phone.
SummarySummary: Despite only a few bugs I've found (which got fixed, pronto), if I didn't REALLY like the product, I wouldn't have paid for the shareware upgrades over the past couple of decades. It's got great appointment features, contact/address features, and to-do features, along with the notes, appointment alarms, etc.

"Looks Great, but HUGE amount of bugs make it unusable."

November 12, 2012

Version: Time and Chaos 8.0.5.6

ProsCHAOS INTELLECT 4.0.5.6 This is a nifty desktop contact manager with notes, appointments, tasks, search filters, user defined fields and a flexible import utility, and what's cool about it is you can access everything on one screen and get where you need to quickly.
ConsHUGE number of user interface bugs make this product unusable, however it has never crashed on me. All of a sudden you will find it is not saving data you have entered when going to other screens or data does not import correctly. I have emailed technical support descriptions of dozens and dozens of bugs and while they have acknowledged these and fixed some, this is obviously a half-baked attempt. They obviously have no in house program to do "torture" testing of their own product and to me, that's a sign of a LAZY software company you DON'T want to buy from.
SummaryLooks great, easy to use, many features, concise, good for leads management or those doing marketing/ prospecting. If only it worked correctly.

"Not as good as it used to be"

October 30, 2012

By Tasko1

Version: Time and Chaos 8.0.5.5

ProsNot many, used to be a good program!
ConsHave been using for the last 13 years. Like most software companies they have to keep changing the way it looks & works (and not always for the better) For example in the current version the calendar doesn't wrap anymore so you can't see the whole appointment when looking at the month view. I would not have wasted my money if I had known that. And now I have recreate my 13 year database if I change programs.
SummaryChaos Software are like fussy people, they can't quit tinkering just for the sake of tinkering. It's also strange that they have no online forum for users like most software products and no search bar on their website.I don't recommend wasting your time with this overpriced program. And now

"Best PIM I've found!"

Version: Time and Chaos 8.0.4.9

ProsHave been using T&C since version 5. Every version is cleaner, better and has more features without compromising the nice interface. Once tried, would never go back to Outlook. Installs & uninstalls without problems. Good help.
ConsNone that I've found.
SummaryVery good PIM!

"Contact Options Limited"

Version: Time and Chaos 8.0.4.4

ProsIt looks pleasant to the eye, and seems simple to use
ConsBut why on earth should I pay USD 50 for a product that can ONLY import contacts from OUTLOOK?
SummaryEven as a FREE product it is useless for me when I would have to re-CREATE MY ENTIRE DATABASE AGAIN FROM SCRATCH.

"Much more than I expected. Upgraded to Intellect."

Version: Time and Chaos 7.0.4.5

ProsTask management; Connectivity between contacts, tasks, and projects; Nice looking and intuitive interface; shortcuts to files in other software an extra that I wasn't looking for but like very much; Extremely helpful tech support. There are lots of options, yet the interface is not overwhelming or difficult to use. My expectations have been exceeded.
ConsA couple of quirks, but I have firm belief they will fix- 1. cannot set start date on task series (it starts on the day you open it). It's meant to be initiated in that way, but I have tasks in my series set both before and after a target date. The program will let you set tasks in a series before the '0' date, but will not let you determine when that date should be upon opening a series. 2. I've frozen the program a couple of times by selecting large batches of inbound email to 'save sender to contacts.' Probably only important while setting up initially, and I've been selecting in smaller batches and it seems to be ok.
SummaryI am VERY pleased with this program. I will likely be following it up soon by trying/adding the options for syncing with my mobile devices now that I am satisfied with the desktop version.
