VertrigoServ was developed to make available a highly professional and easily installable package of Apache, PHP, MySQL and PhpMyAdmin for Windows platform. With a convenient all-in-one installer, all components are installed in a single directory and can be used immediately after the installation process has completed. An uninstaller allows you remove the VertrigoServ from hard disc.
VertrigoServ is an all-in-one solution for installing Apache and PHP on your server or personal computer, in order to convert it into a web server. Aiming to be superior over other WAMP solutions, the program provides you with two different database servers, MySQL and SQLite, along with their most famous database managers, PhpMyAdmin and SQLiteManager. The program comes with numerous Apache and PHP extensions installed, but you can easily enable or disable any of them. One more great feature is the ability to adjust almost all important PHP and MySql settings without having to edit the php.ini or my.cnf files, which makes your job a lot easier.
With this program installed, you can develop, test, and publish PHP web applications and websites. You can also take advantage of the included Smarty , which is the best template system for PHP script. The installed ZendOptimizer enables you to run encoded PHP scripts on your web-server, and run other normal PHP files 40% faster than before. Now, you can save on your hosting fees by hosting your website on your own computer, or you can just use it to test modifications of your website locally, before you publish it.

ProsI'm an experienced pc user but not a programmer (I run a wiki and a CMS) ; so installing and configuring latest versions of PHP, SQL, APACHE, PHPMYADMIN, etc is not easy at all, very slow and frustrating, but this package quickly did it all, and provided a few extras. EasyPHP is good but uses old versions of Apache and PHP, which the new Media Wiki software (used by Wikipedia) requires. Very good user shell menu to administer all aspects of the servers. And it's free.
ConsI had a hard time getting it to work at first but finally figured it out, which I felt was due to the instructions being too brief and targetted to someone with too high a technical knowledge level. But once it worked, it worked!

ProsApache, MySQL and PHP (+MySQL admin written in PHP) installed or updated within 5 minutes. What more do you want? You have your own test environment running without any effort. This programme made me chuckle when thinking back of my Linux experience.
ConsNone so far, for me this works like a charm.
